What is GUA SHA?!

Updated: May 29, 2020

”Gua Sha resonates deeply with simple back-to-basics approach to healing. Gua Sha is all about the skin: what happens on it and under it."
"Ancient Technique Becoming the Latest Game Changer"

Let's talk, GUA SHA!

"Gua Sha is a facial rejuvenation therapy based on the traditions of traditional chinese medicine and the profound cell renewal and life-sustaining importance of Manual Lymphatic Drainage for maintaining Youth and Vitality."

Let's keep it simple, here are the benefits of Gua Sha therapy!

• Immediate result renew facial contour; tone, firm, and lift sagging skin.

• Repattern the way your skin age.

• Helps diminish acne.

• Reduce inflammation, puffiness and dark circles.

• Minimize fine lines and soften deep wrinkles.

• Brighten skin complexion, enhances the skin's ability to ”breath”

• Stimulate production of collagen and elastin.

• Diminish blemishes, hyperpigmentation.

Did you know?

The deeper you understand your skin underneath, the easier it is for you to address your concerns on the surface.

I recently got a Gua Sha facial with Danna Omari, the founder of Noy Spa, NY. I got to see the immediate lifted result in the contour of my face. I knew then Gua Sha had to be apart of COSME skin therapy.

I had the honor to train with one of the best in the business, Cecily Braden, the founder of Beauty Secrets. Her practice focuses on the healing of the skin inside out, releasing tension we hold in our face and body (most of them we didn't even realize they existed!)

What is Gua Sha?

Ladies, those jade stones you see all over the internet & the short tutorials of people using the jades to glide on their face? That is Gua Sha!

Gua Sha helps disband myofascial tension and free the layers of muscle and connective tissue that create adhesions in the underlying structures. Which ( most case ) blocks the nutrients supply to the skin. Since our neck and shoulders are the pathways to our facial skin, one of Gua Sha's jobs is to simply open the pathways for Manual Lymphatic drainage.

Can you do maintenance at home? Yes, absolutely. However, since Gua Sha promotes lymphatic drainage, knowing the proper techniques to Gua Sha is more important than you think. My main goal here is to connect with you and fill you in on all the benifits Gua Sha could bring to the table just from 5-10 minutes each night!

I'm here to help, and happy to answer any questions you have! Dont forget to follow My Skincare Journey to how to age beautifully!
